Accused absconder arrested 17 years later in Kottayam

Police arrested an accused who had absconded for 17 years after being released on bail in a murder attempt case. The accused, Prashanth from Muhammad, was apprehended by Cheruthala police in Marayoor. He was involved in a house attack in 2009, where he and four others assaulted a head of household, causing injuries. Prashanth was declared a fugitive after escaping following his release on bail, and the arrest was made by a team including ASI Ratheesh Gopakumar and Civil Police Officer Sanila, under the leadership of Inspector Manjuda in Cheruthala.
