Catering owner questioned by police for allegedly misappropriating lakhs after failing to provide food for wedding reception
Police questioned Vishnu Mohanan, owner of Udayam Event Catering, based in Kanjirappally, Kottayam, in a case where he allegedly misappropriated lakhs after failing to provide food for a wedding reception. The police action was based on a complaint from Sumangalaadevi of Palakkuzha. According to the complaint, Vishnu Mohanan had received ₹1,35,000 in various stages via Google Pay for the wedding ceremony of the complainant's son, scheduled for August 16, and the reception on the 22nd. However, he only provided food for 100 people during the Haldi ceremony and later withdrew, stating he could not provide food for the main reception just two days prior. The case alleges that he failed to return the remaining ₹1,10,000, after deducting ₹25,000 for the food provided during the Haldi ceremony.
