Excise Department Orders Pause on Bar License Renewals Until New Liquor Policy

The Kerala Excise Department has issued an urgent directive stating that bar licenses should not be renewed until the state announces a new liquor policy. This strict instruction was issued by R. Jayashankar, who is currently handling the duties of the Excise Commissioner. The department also noted that vigilance investigations may be launched regarding the approval of licenses for bars in Ernakulam and Kottayam districts.
