Five years since the Kottikkal-Kokayar landslide disaster; local people remember the loss and continue the struggle for survival

The 5th anniversary of the natural disaster in the Kottikkal and Kokayar rural areas, which claimed 21 lives, is marked today. While many houses have been built for those who lost their homes through rehabilitation efforts, nine families in Kokayar panchayat still require new homes. Furthermore, five bridges, including the Malakara footbridge and Poovanchi footbridge, still need construction to improve local life and travel facilities.
