Government opposes plea to suspend sentence in illegal wealth accumulation case

The government strongly opposed the plea filed by former DGP Tomin J Thachankary to suspend his sentence in the illegal wealth accumulation case. The High Court has adjourned the hearing of Thachankary's petition to Thursday. The court convicted him to four years of imprisonment and a fine of 31 lakh rupees. The government stated that the case is special and cannot be handled in a normal manner.
