Government to provide ₹8 lakh aid to families of nine people who died in heavy rain and floods

The Chief Minister announced that the cabinet decided to provide ₹8 lakh each to the families of nine people who died in the recent heavy rain and floods. The deceased were from Idukki, Kottayam, and Malappuram districts. The CM also announced that the name of the State Department of Senior Citizen Welfare will be renamed to Department of Senior Citizens. Furthermore, the government will launch a road safety campaign to curb increasing road accidents and mortality rates.
