Government rejects prosecution sanction for afforestation corruption case

The government rejected the application for prosecution sanction against retired IFS officers in a case alleging misuse of government funds in afforestation projects. The decision was taken against former IFS officers N. Shashidharan and Dr. Amit Mallick. The government stated that the prosecution could not prove the allegations, citing that afforestation activities did not take place in the project areas.
