High Court to hear plea for bail modification and permission to work abroad for former DGP Tomin J. Thachankari

The High Court will again consider the petition filed by former DGP Tomin J. Thachankari seeking modification of his bail conditions and permission to work abroad in the case of illegal wealth accumulation. The court questioned how Thachankari, who was in jail, could work abroad, and directed the jail superintendent to provide a report detailing his hospital stay during the incarceration period. The case involves charges of accumulating illegal wealth while in office from 2003 to 2007, for which the Kottayam Vigilance Court convicted him on September 17 last year.
