New tariff policy announced to recover past losses of electricity board

This decision aims to recover ₹5000 crore in losses through the surcharge. The revised electricity rates and surcharge will be effective from April 1, 2027, and the new policy will determine electricity rates for the five years from 2027-28 to 2031-32, including a four-year surcharge.
