Panchayat ordered to pay ₹52,000 compensation for stray dog attack on student

A court ordered the Panchayat to pay ₹52,000 compensation for an incident where a student was attacked by a stray dog 12 years ago. The District Legal Service Authority and the Stray Dog Victim Compensation Recommendation Committee passed the order to the Keezhariyar Grama Panchayat. The incident occurred on March 1, 2014, when Amrutha Priya, a BBA student at Koyilandy S.N.D.P College, was attacked by a stray dog while walking on the road.
