State plans 24-hour joint checks on national highways to curb road accidents

The Motor Vehicle Department and Police are preparing for 24-hour joint inspections on national highways across the state, dividing them into six zones. This initiative aims to reduce road accidents by half within the next three months. The department plans to take strict action against those driving under the influence of alcohol or other substances. The checks will be conducted under the direct supervision of Deputy Transport Commissioners.
