Thiruvonam Bumper Lottery contributes crores to Central Government treasury

The Thiruvonam bumper lottery, which sold 90 lakh tickets at the ₹500 rate, is expected to contribute crores to the central government as GST share. The total sale was ₹450 crore, resulting in an estimated GST of 98.44 crore. Of this, the central government will receive ₹49.22 crore as CGST share. Additionally, ₹10.53 crore will be paid to the central income tax department through TDS, cess, and health and education cess.
