Youth Commission files case over alleged custodial torture of Adivasi youth

The Kerala State Youth Commission filed a case regarding the alleged brutal torture of an Adivasi youth from Punjaar Perungulam Edakkara Unnathi. The family alleged that five police officers, not in uniform, forcibly took the youth, an KSEB contract employee, from his home on charges of stealing a wire. The youth was allegedly brutally beaten during a journey of about seven kilometers and was first taken to a nearby hospital and later admitted to Kottayam Government Medical College.
