Palakkad Municipality Chairman submits memorandum to Minister for Local Self-Government

Palakkad Municipality Chairman P Smithesh submitted a memorandum to the Minister for Local Self-Government, K.M. Shaji. The memorandum raised five key issues, including cultural heritage preservation, legislation for increasing indigenous revenue, basic infrastructure development, and reducing financial liability in waste management. The chairman also sought government support for the 'Musical City of Kerala' project, planned for the 2026-27 budget, which aims to elevate Palakkad as 'Kerala's Musical Cultural Capital'.
