Man deliberately rams car into vehicles injuring nine in Kottayam

A 27-year-old man, Sharon Philip, native of Koottickal, allegedly drove his car recklessly into several vehicles on National Highway 183 at Chotti, injuring nine people. He later told police he was attempting suicide. The Mundakayam police arrested Philip and registered a case of attempted murder. Five cars, an auto-rickshaw, and a scooter were involved in the series of collisions, injuring nine people, including a pedestrian and a four-year-old child.
