Allegations of corruption and demand for vigilance inquiry over collapse of new surgical block ceiling at Kottayam Medical College

The demand for a comprehensive vigilance inquiry has intensified following the collapse of the ceiling in the new surgical block building at Kottayam Medical College. Allegations suggest major irregularities and corruption occurred during the construction of the new building, which cost ₹270 crore. MLA Nattakam Suresh stated that the issue is serious, noting that parts of the building began deteriorating just three months after the inauguration during the second Pinarayi government.
