High Court grants two days to government to file affidavit on suspension of sentence in property accumulation case

The High Court granted the government two days to file an affidavit regarding the request by former DGP Tomin Thachankari to temporarily suspend the sentence in the illegal property accumulation case. Thachankari sought to suspend the sentence imposed by the Kottayam Vigilance Court. The Kottayam Vigilance Court had sentenced him to four years imprisonment and a fine exceeding 30 lakh and 84 thousand rupees. The court found that he accumulated property exceeding his income while serving as KBPS MD from 2003 to 2007.
