Police file case against catering owner for allegedly cheating after taking money for wedding catering

Police have registered a case against Vishnu Mohan, owner of Udayam Event Catering, based in Kanjirappally. The complaint was filed by Sumangala Deva regarding the alleged failure to provide food for a child's wedding ceremony on August 16, 2026, for 150 people and for a reception on August 22, 2026, for 1000 people. The complaint alleges that the accused took ₹1,35,000 through Google Pay and failed to provide food for the reception, leaving the complainant with a loss of ₹1,10,000 after deducting the cost of food (₹25,000).
