Rising coal prices and electricity costs burden KSEB, potentially increasing consumer charges

Rising coal prices and electricity costs are creating a significant financial burden for KSEB. The increased cost of purchasing electricity from outside sources may lead to additional charges being levied on consumers through an fuel surcharge. KSEB stated that there is an additional liability of ₹11.92 crore for electricity purchased. This additional cost is expected to be collected from consumers as a fuel surcharge in November.
